Rosary for Ben Leo Isaacs Jr. will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pond Creek. Burial will be Pond Creek Cemetery.

Leo was born Sept. 15, 1926, in Enid, to Ben Isaacs and Ora Cook Isaacs, and went to be with the Lord Friday, March 13, 2015, at home with his family.

He attended Pond Creek school, graduating with the class of 1944.

On Oct. 11, 1944, he married Phyllis Davis of Jefferson at St. Mary’s parsonage in Medford, Okla. They resided south of Pond Creek and later moved to town.

On Oct. 11, 2014, Leo and Phyllis celebrated their 70th anniversary. On that day, they had a great-grandchild baptized at St. Joseph Old Cathedral in Oklahoma City, Okla.

During World War II, Leo served in the Merchant Marines. After the war, he came home to farm until retiring in 2013. During his life, he enjoyed going to his activities of his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. He was a very supportive father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed collecting farm toys and going to antique tractor shows. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Pond Creek.

Leo is survived by his wife Phyllis of the home; children, Larry Isaacs and wife Sherri of Pond Creek, Terry Isaacs and wife Ronda of Oklahoma City, Teresa Barker of Dufries, Va.; a brother, Robert Isaacs and wife Margaret of Enid; seven grandchildren, Whitley, Jenny, Clare, Jerome, Danny, Chris and Richard; seven great-grandchildren, Waylon, Isabella, Riley, Brendan, Ayama, Little Chris, Little Richard; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by son Gary Isaacs; grandson Joe Isaacs; parents Ben and Ora Isaacs; sisters, and Mary Agatha Ryan and Patricia Schoemaker.

Memorials may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, heart or cancer fund.

Phyllis was born July 7, 1926, in Jefferson, to Ann and Ross Davis, and went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, with her family by her.

She attended Jefferson School, graduating with the class of 1944.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; son, Gary Isaacs; grandson, Joe Isaacs; her parents, Ross and Ann Davis; and sister Mary Croft.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Pond Creek, with Father Carl Janocha officiating. Interment will follow at Pond Creek Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek.

On Oct. 11, 1944, she married Ben Leo Isaacs Jr., of Pond Creek, at St Mary’s parsonage in Medford. They resided south of Pond Creek, and moved to town in the fall of 1961. While her husband was serving in the merchant marines, she was employed at the Medford Variety Store. After her husband returned from military duty, she then worked alongside him on the farm, while raising their four children.

During her life, she enjoyed going to the activities of her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. She was a very supportive mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a passion for reading, and she enjoyed baking and cooking for her family.

On Oct. 11, 2014, Phyllis and Leo celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. On that day, they had a great-grandson baptized at St. Joseph Old Cathedral, in Oklahoma City. She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pond Creek.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Larry Isaacs and wife Sherri, Pond Creek; Terry Isaacs and wife Ronda, Oklahoma City; and Teresa Barker of Dumfries, Va.; seven grandkids, Whitley, Jenny, Clare, Jerome, Danny, Chris and Richard; seven great-grandkids, Waylon, Isabella, Riley, Brendan, Ayanna, Little Chris and Little Richard; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
