December 27, 1938 - December 7, 2021Leland Joe Hamman passed to eternal life on Dec. 7, 2021. He was born Dec. 27, 1938, in Enid, OK, graduated from high school in Pond Creek, OK, received a BA from Northwestern Oklahoma State College and a MS from Fort Hays State, Hays, KS.
Joe served in the Army from 1962-1965 and was a writer for the battalion newspaper while stationed in Berlin, Germany.
He married Patricia Baldwin of Fairview, OK. In 1966 the couple moved to Fowler, KS, where they raised their two children. A beloved teacher, he taught social studies, history, and speech in Kansas and Oklahoma.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia; daughter Stephanie and son-in-law David Gilroy; son Colin and daughter-in-law Michele Hamman; 11 grandchildren; and sister Diana Hamman Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Frances Hamman.
Funeral Mass will be at St. John Nepomuk, Yukon, OK, Dec. 20th, at 10 a.m., with interment following at Pond Creek Cemetery at 3:15 p.m. www.yandafuneral.com
