Pond Creek Cemetery


Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek, with Ryan Goodman officiating. Burial will be in Pond Creek Cemetery.

Elmer L. Goodman was born Feb. 5, 1921, in Seiling, OK the son of Jacob and Esther Carlotta Hergert Goodman. He died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, Enid.

He married Janet Johnson Aug. 25, 1955, in Englewood, CO. They owned and operated Fort Logan Bus Lines. They moved to Pond Creek in 1967. He worked for Cooper Filling Station, Feuquay Elevator, Pond Creek School as a bus driver, janitor and electrician. He later worked at George E. Failing as machinist and assembler. Elmer also worked at Vance Air Base for Northrop on refueling and ground vehicles. He retired in 1988. He then mowed yards and delivered the Enid and Oklahoman newspapers. He moved to Enid to be closer to his family. He moved to Living Center in 2006 and the same year he moved to Golden Oaks. He was a member of United Methodist Church of Pond Creek.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Earl, Lee and Howard and Bill Goodman and a sister Dolly.

He is survived by two sons, Kenneth Goodman and wife Carol of Denver, CO and David Goodman and wife Kathi of Woodward, OK; three daughters, Janet Beaucage and husband Phil of Crossville, TN, Patricia Goodman of Watonga, OK and Iola Canning and husband John of Enid, OK; two sisters, Patsy Carpenter and husband Norman of Clearwater, KS and Betty Hignite and husband Bill of Enid. He also is survived by six grandchildren, Derek Goodman, Andrea Attel and husband Ted, Justin Goodman, Ryan Goodman and wife Barbara, Jacob Canning and Sara Canning.

Memorials may be made to Pond Creek Cemetery Association.
