Pond Creek Cemetery


Pond Creek – the funeral for Ethel Gale, 97, who died Monday in her home in Pond Creek, will be at 2 PM Thursday at the First Christian Church there. The Reverend Kitchell will officiate. Burial will be at the Pond Creek Cemetery under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gale was born January 1889 in Alta Vista, Kansas, and moved to Pond Creek in 1915. At the time of her death, she was the oldest member of the First Christian Church, Pond Creek. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her and Doctor F. C. Gale were married in 1911, in Kansas City, Missouri. He died in 1933.

Survivors include two sons, W. M. Gale, Pond Creek, and Edward Gale, Golden, Missouri, two daughters, Helen Manuel, and Luisa Arnold, Edmond; nine grandchildren; 15 great – grandchildren; and seven great – great – grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Memorials in her name may be made to the Pond Creek Ambulance Fund with the funeral home serving as custodian of the funds.
