Pond Creek Cemetery


February 9, 1870 - September 28, 1925

Logan Loyal Fees, aged 55 years, passed away Monday at 10:55 a.m. at his home on East Oklahoma Ave. His condition had been deemed critical for a week preceding and the end was not unexpected. Death was due to Bright's disease. Near relatives who had been summoned when his illness had taken on a serious turn, were with him at the end.

Besides his wife, he is survived by six brothers and two sisters: E. E. Fees, Corning Iowa; B.B. Fees, of Pond Creek, Okla.; A. O. Fees, Fresno, Calif.; C.C. Fees, Kalispel, Mont.; W.W. Fees, Mt. Aetna, Iowa; J.J. Fees, Linnton, Oregon; Mrs. F. E. Simpson of Corning , Iowa; and Mrs. E. C. Trexell, of Detroit, Mich.

Funeral services were held at 8 o'clock P.M. Tuesday at the Christian Church in Hennessey, the services being in charge of the Knights of the Rose Croix, with Dr. M.A. Mitchell of Enid , as master of ceremonies. The rights were beautiful and impressive. A wonderful wealth of flowers evidenced the love and esteem of many friends. A special choir participated in the services.

Many brother Masons and Eastern Star members from out of town attended the services and the church edifice was crowded to capacity and many turned away.

The body was returned to the Fee home Tuesday night, and taken to Pond Creek, his former home, Wednesday morning by motor hearse. Rev. Chas. Henson, A. C. Black, Harry Ehler , and Kenneth McAtee accompanied the funeral party to Pond Creek, where services were held at 10 a.m. from the Christian Church , Elder Shane officiating and Rev. Chas. Henson assisting. The Masonic Lodge were in charge of the services. All business houses in that city were closed duri8ng the services. Interment was made om the Pond Creek Cemetery.

Two trucks were required to transport the floral remembrances.

Logan Loyal Fees was born Feb 9, 1870 , at Mt. Aetna, Iowa, and died at his home in Hennessey, Sept. 28, 1925. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1900 and two years later was married to Miss Beatrice Garner, at McLoud, Okla. He engaged in business for himself in that city in 1905. Disposing of his business there in the early fall of 1914, he removed to Pond Creek to engage in a similar line. He disposed of the business to his brother and purchased the Reeder Drug store in Hennessey in July 1925, and moved to Hennessey July 6th.

Until a few days before he was forced to take his bed , he was unaware that serious illness threatened , but he faced the future bravely and carried on until the end.
