Pond Creek – Services for Hallie "Hal" Davis, 82, died Wednesday in an Enid Hospital. His funeral will be at 3:30 PM Saturday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Treat, chaplain of Bass Baptist Hospital, officiating. Burial will be in Pond Creek Cemetery, directed by Wilson Funeral Home of Pond Creek.
Davis was born at Jefferson January 1, 1905, to Oscar and Mary Davis and grew up in the Jefferson and Pond Creek area. He and Stella "Pat" Trekell were married at Crescent May 1, 1930.
They lived in Pond Creek, where he operated a restaurant and worked as a carpenter until moving to Wichita, Kansas, in 1950. He worked as an aircraft assembly mechanic until moving back to Pond Creek in 1960, then operated a grocery for several years.
Davis is survived by his wife, Stella; a son, Eugene of Enid; a brother, Richard of Grove; three sisters, Lillie Davis of Pond Creek, Millie Collins of Oxford, Kansas, and Goldie Jenkins of Fredericksburg, West Virginia; a grandchild and three great – grandchildren. He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters and a granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to the Pond Creek Ambulance Fund, through the funeral home.
