ENID — Kayleen was born Jan. 29, 1940, in an Enid Hospital to Alma and Dale Boyer of Pond Creek, Okla.

She resided in Pond Creek and attended school there until 1957, when she attended Stephens College in Missouri for two years.

Then she transferred to Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where she graduated in May 1961.

On June 24, 1961, Kayleen married Darrel D. Behring.

After the wedding, they moved to Mountain Home AFB, Idaho, then transferred to Altus AFB, Oklahoma, and finally to Houston, Texas.

In Houston, Kayleen worked for the Houston Post as an accountant, and Darrel attended law school once he completed his service.

After enjoying their life together as a couple, they decided they were ready to expand their family.

On June 23, 1970, Tami Sue was born and added more love and activity to the family. Sept. 8, 1973, Tara Kaye was born and added more love and lots more activity to the family.

Kayleen chose to devote all of her time (and patience) to their family, and was very engaged in the growth and education of their two daughters.

In 1990, with the daughters grown and off starting their own adult lives, she joined Darrel in starting a small fabrication business they operated until 2010.

After retirement in 2010 she began caring for her six Fort Worth grandchildren, where again she gladly devoted her time and love to them (not to mention even more patience!).

She is survived by her husband of over 51 years; Tami Sue Brugman and husband Kevin. plus their six children of Fort Worth; and Tara Behring Vlasimsky and husband Richard, plus their two children of Denver, Colo.

The Fort Worth grandchildren are Emma, Audrey, Zachary, Olivia, Noah and Nathaniel Brugman.

The Denver grandchildren are Alek and Katerina Vlasimsky.

She is also survived by her brother, J.D. Boyer of Pond Creek, Okla., and his family.

Kayleen lived life fully and cherished every day she had to spend with those she loved.

She will be greatly missed by her family and those who knew her and were touched by her grace, charm and compassion.

A memorial service for Kayleen will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at First Christian Church, Pond Creek, Okla. Arrangements are by Forest Ridge Funeral Home, Euless, Texas.
