LAMONT — Dorothea G. Ascue, 90, of Lamont, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, May 18,
2012, in Hillcrest Manor Nursing Center, Blackwell, OK. She was born August 26,
1921, in Pond Creek, OK, to George L. and Lillis Esther (Howland) Sharkey.

Graveside memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012, in Pond Creek
Cemetery. Arrangements are by Anderson Funeral Home, Tonkawa, Oklahoma.

Dorothea grew up in Pond Creek, graduating from Pond Creek High School. She
married Merle Wesley Ascue February 23, 1941, in Wichita, Kansas, and they
celebrated 61 years of marriage.

Dorothea is survived by her husband, Merle of the home; son, Steve Ascue of
Lamont, OK.; daughter, Saundra Sue Bates of Rockledge, FL.; three grandchildren;
one great-grandchild; and numerous other relatives.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenneth Sharkey; and sister,
Darlene McAdams.
