The funeral for Mary Alice Alcorn, 61, of Enid will be 2 PM Monday at Brown – Cummings Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Danny Marney will officiate. Burial will follow in Pond Creek Cemetery.
She was born December 31, 1942, in Claremore to Roy Austin and Gertrude Jester Mathes and died Thursday, December 30, 2004, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.
She was educated in Stroud and moved to Medford in 1961. She married Darrell Obleness August 15, 1959. She married Paul Alcorn June 3, 1971, in Sayre. They moved to Waukomis in 1972 and to Enid in 1981. She worked for several nursing homes in Enid as a certified medical aid and a private sitter.
Surviving are her husband, Paul of the home; two sons, Jerry Don Obleness and Christopher Lee Alcorn, both of Enid; six daughters, Sharon Kaye Pierce, Deborah Lynn Anderson, LeAndra Sue Obleness, Diane Marie Daugherty, Carrie Dawn Goldman and Crystal Gail Alcorn, all of Enid; a brother, Harold Mathes of Colorado; three sisters, Ruby Hardin, Shirley Troutman and Patsy Wagner; 14 grandchildren; and two great – grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister and a grandchild.
