A graveside service for Alice Beth Adkins, 82, will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2008, in Pond Creek Cemetery with the Revs. L.D. Choate and Ron Olson officiating. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek.

She was born April 6, 1926, in Pond Creek to Silas Marion and Mary E. Barwick Dillon and died Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at Enid Senior Care Center. She attended Pond Creek Schools to the 10th grade. She married Silas Henderson in 1943. Three children were born of this marriage: David W. Henderson of Edmond, Larry E. Henderson of El Reno, and Mary E. Fiala of Texas. Silas preceded her in death in 1951.

Alice later married Clifton E. Adkins in 1955. Two children were born to this marriage: Gwendolyn J. Miller of Enid and Nancy Kay Mann of Texas. She worked at Enid school cafeterias for several years prior to her retirement in 1988.

Surviving are her husband, Clifton, of the home; five children, David W. Henderson and his wife Barbara of Edmond, Larry E. Henderson of El Reno, Mary Fiala and husband Wayne of Dickinson, Texas, Gwendolyn Miller and her husband Carol of Enid, and Nancy Mann and her husband Derek of Keller, Texas; two brothers, Jess Dillon and his wife Helen and Richard Dillon and his wife Pauline, both of Pond Creek; one sister, Mildred Kesler of Pond Creek; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles Dillon and Marion Dillon, both of Pond Creek; and two sisters, Mary Glow and Emma Bowling, both of Pond Creek.

Memorials in her name may by made to Oklahoma Heart Association in lieu of flowers.

The memorial service with military honors by Vance Air Force Base Honor Guard for Clifton Elwood Adkins, 80, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, Pond Creek. The Revs. David Lyons and L.D. Choate will officiate.

He was born May 13, 1929, in Garber to Harry and Mona F. Abrames Adkins and died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, in Enid. He attended Garber schools through the ninth grade. He joined the Air Force Feb. 24, 1947. He was a surgical tech and medical corpsman. He was a staff sargeant during the Korean War.

He worked at Vance Air Force Base as an aircraft fuel truck driver and retired in 1989. He married Alice Beth Adkins in 1955. He was a member of First Christian Church, Garber.

Surviving are two daughters, Gwendolyn J. Miller of Enid and Nancy K. Mann of Wichita Falls, Texas; two stepsons, David Henderson of Edmond and Larry E. Henderson of El Reno; one stepdaughter, Mary E. Fiala of Houston; two brothers, Harry Adkins of Perry and ElRoy Adkins; one sister, Fern Hise of Perry; 12 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice, three brothers and one sister.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Heart Association.
