Walter (Don) Skaggs, 79, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016. Funeral Services are 10 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2016, at First Baptist Church of Nash, with Rev. Sam Farris officiating. Burial will follow in New Home Cemetery, Nash. There will be a visitation Sunday August 14, 2016, at the funeral home from 5-6 p.m. Arrangements are under direction of Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek.
Walter Don Skaggs was born February 16, 1937, to Walter Alan and Velma (Hughes) Skaggs. He graduated Nash High School in 1955. Don attended Northwestern College in Alva. While at Northwestern, he officiated surrounding schools for basketball games. Don also was a sports journalist for the Alva Review Courier Newspaper.
On May 26, 1957, Don married Bonnie Posey. Don and Bonnie returned to the Nash area to work on the family farm until they retired. Don was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nash.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie of the home; 2 sons, Alan Skaggs and Troy Skaggs and wife Rhonda; granddaughters Shelby and Shay Skaggs.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Nash or Nash Volunteer Fire Department.

Bonnie Posey Skaggs, 77, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018. Visitation is 5:30-7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Friday January 26, 2018, at the First Baptist Church of Nash with Rev. Sam Farris officiating. Burial follows at the New Home Cemetery, Nash. Arrangements are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek.
Bonnie was born April 4, 1940, to Howard and Clara Posey. On May 26,1957, she married Walter Don Skaggs. Bonnie worked in the Alva school systems as a paraprofessional for special needs children. Bonnie also taught oil painting lessons for many years in the northwest area.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Helen Chisum and Janice Todd.
She is survived by her son, Troy Skaggs and wife Rhonda, as well as her granddaughters, Shelby and Shay, all of Nash; son; Alan Skaggs; siblings, Jim Posey, Enid, and Juanita Packard, Oklahoma City; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Memorial may be made to First Baptist Church of Nash or Nash Fire Department.
