Joe David and Bonnie L. KENNEDY ROBERTS

New Home Cemetery

ENID, Okla. — Bonnie Kennedy Roberts, formerly of Amarillo, Texas, passed away at her home in Muskogee, Okla. She was 80 years old. Bonnie was the only child of John and Geneva (Hutcheson) Kennedy and was born Aug. 16, 1932. She passed from this life on Sept. 23, 2012. She grew up on a farm and graduated from Nash High School in 1950. She met and married Joe David Roberts, and they had three children. The couple travelled the country as Joe worked as a carpenter. They settled in Amarillo, Texas, where Bonnie worked as the office manager for her husband’s business, Rocox, Inc. The couple later retired to Muskogee, Okla., to be near their children.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Geneva Kennedy, and great grandson, Jamon Cox. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Joe, of 62 years, sons Doyle (Ruth), Dene (Ellen) and daughter Becky (Richard) Beachboard. She was blessed with nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several cousins whom she loved like sisters. She also leaves a very special friend, her Yorkie Betsy.

She professed a faith in Jesus Christ just three days before her death, and for that, the family is very thankful. Bonnie was an avid OU football fan, an animal lover and a great supporter of Coins 4 Critters, a nonprofit animal welfare group. Any donations can be made in her memory to Coins 4 Critters, P. O. Box 2466, Muskogee, OK 74402

The family also would like to thank Dr. Jason Dansby, LeeAnn, Pam and First Care Hospice.

There will be a family dinner served at noon at the Nash Senior Citizens Building on Saturday, Oct. 6.
