New Home Cemetery


Funeral services for Clara H. Posey, 95, will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at Nash Christian Church. She passed away Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007, at Golden Oaks Nursing Center in Enid. The Revs. Dan O’Daniel and Martin Nordloh will preside with burial in New Home Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek. Visitation will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Wilson Funeral Home.

Clara was born in Benton, KS April 10, 1911 to Albert and Viola Clark.

She married Howard L. Posey April 10, 1930, in Ringwood, OK He preceded her in death in September 1988. He owned and operated the H.L. Posey Garage in Nash.

She was a charter member of Nash Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, an Honorary Lifetime member of Nash Lions Club, Nash Senior Citizens, Homemakers Study Club, Nash Christian Church, and Christian Women Fellow-ship.

She was survived by one son, James and Jeannice Posey of Hutchinson, KS; three daughters, Helen Chisum of Enid, Janice and Floyd Todd and Bonnie and Don Skaggs of Nash; two sisters, Juanita Packard of Oklahoma City, whom she raised, and Ruth Whorton of Chanute, KS; two brothers, Glenn Clark and Bob Clark of Wichita, KS; 13 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She also did child care for Lara Zander Meyer from birth to school age.

She was preceded in death by her husband Howard, two brothers, one sister, and one great-great-grandson.

Memorials may be made through Wilson Funeral Home to Nash Christian Church Building Fund, New Home Cemetery, or Nash Lions Club.

The family will be at the home of Bonnie and Don Skaggs, RR, Nash.
