Harold (Hal) Parks August 26, 1942-April 22, 2023
Hal was born in Estella, Oklahoma, to Richard Gregory and Effa (Wayman) Parks. His parents moved from Kansas to a farm southwest of Nash, Oklahoma, where he grew up and graduated from Nash High School in 1960. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served four years as a seaman specialist aboard the USS William V. Pratt missile destroyer.
After his discharge from the Navy in 1965, Hal moved to California and became a detective for the Seaside, California, Police Department. During this time, he married Cheri Harpel and welcomed her son, Mark, and in 1971, their only daughter, Lacey.
In 1974 the family moved back to Oklahoma, where Hal began his long career with Central Machine & Tool.
Hal married Betty Jane Weber in 1979 and gained stepsons Chris and Matthew.
He later married Carolyn Spangler in 1996 and gained stepdaughters, Rhonda, LaDonna, and Tamar, and stepsons Craig and Joseph.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Greg and Effa; brothers, Elam, Wayne, Brent and John; sister, Joan Humphrey; and stepsons, Matthew Weber, Craig Weeks and Joseph Spangler. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Carolyn; daughter, Lacey; stepsons, Mark and Chris; stepdaughters LaDonna, Rhonda, Tamar; brothers, Richard and Robert (Linda); special daughter-in-law, Kelly; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Nash Christian Church, with Pastor Matt Watkins officiating. Inurnment will follow in New Home Cemetery, Nash, OK. Memorials to Nash Christian Church or New Home Cemetery. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek, OK.
