Leonard "Byrd" Jones
July 7, 1943 – January 17, 2015
Funeral service for Leonard “Byrd” Jones, 71, of Coahoma, Texas, formerly of the Jet/Nash area, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at Nash Christian Church. Burial will be at New Home Cemetery, Nash. Arrangements are by Myers & Smith Funeral Home, Big Spring, Texas.

September 11, 1943 - October 15, 2018
Louella Jones, 75, of Coahoma, died Monday, October 15, 2018 in Brownwood. Funeral service will be at 4:00 PM, Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Myers & Smith Chapel with Doug Shelley, pastor of East Side Baptist Church, officiating. On Sunday, October 21, 2018 a second service will be held at 2:00 PM, at Nash Christian Church in Nash, Oklahoma. Burial will be at New Home Cemetery in Nash, Oklahoma.
Louella was born on September 11, 1943 in Coldwater, Comanche County, Kansas to Elizabeth Waugh Jones and John Jones. Louella married Leonard “Byrd” Jones on May 20, 1981 in Shattuck, Oklahoma. They moved to Coahoma in 2004 from Quitman, Texas. She moved to Early, Texas in September of this year. Louella was a Registered Nurse and had worked in the medical profession for over 20 years. She most recently had worked at the Big Spring State Hospital. She had also worked at Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home. She loved sewing, crafts, traveling and spending time with family and pets.
Louella is survived by two daughters: Betsy Fry of Wichita, Kansas and Suzy Murphy of Big Spring, Texas; one brother: Henry K. Jones (Liz) of Warsaw, Missouri; nine grandchildren: Sarah Simmons, Andrew Trummel (Kelsey), Tamara Barber (Chivas), Tanner Barber (Sydni), Timothy Fry (Ashley), Rachel Young (Chase), Derek Payton, Teresa Fry (A.J.) and Kevin Payton and 17 great grandchildren.
Louella was preceded in death by her father: John Jones; her mother: Elizabeth Jones; her husband Leonard; her half-brother: Roscoe Jones and one grandson: Adam Marshall Robinson.
