Laveta Jones July 13, 1938 - December 11, 2022
The services celebrating and honoring the life of Laveta Rae Jones will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday December 17, 2022, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the New Home Cemetery, Nash. Complete cremation and services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Laveta was born July 13, 1938 to Kenneth and Dorothy Christmas Elson in Enid, Oklahoma and passed from this life December 11, 2022 in Enid, Oklahoma.
She was raised and educated Nash attending Holly Schools graduating in 1956. She then attended Northwestern University. She Married Myron M. Jones February 3, 1962. She worked at Vance Air Force Base as an Administrative Assistant for eight years she then achieved her real estate and broker’s license and worked in real estate for over five years until moving to Bartlesville in the late eighties. She owned and operated Rent-A-Maid and a women’s clothing boutique for a few years. The couple moved to New Mexico in 1993 where they managed elder care apartments. They later moved back to Bartlesville and returned to Enid in 2004 where she worked in home health until her late seventies. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and her pets.
She is survived by her daughters Karla Patocka and spouse Paul Hess, of Carrier and Janet White and husband Dusty, of Bartlesville; five grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; brother Randy and Marilyn, of Nash; sister Carolyn Hilldinger and husband Don, of Nash. She was preceded in death by her husband Myron M. Jones. Memorials may be made in her honor to the Hospice Circle of Love or the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Alzheimer’s division.
