George Aaron Diller was born July 31, 1930, to George Virgil and Daisy Olive (Miller) Diller in Albia, Iowa, and passed away June 4, 2021, in Enid, OK.
George graduated Jet High School in 1947. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1950. After the passing of his father, he was Honorably Discharged to tend to the family farm. He would farm in the summer and work numerous jobs over the years, including operating Diller Insurance Agency in Nash. He served his community in several capacities, including the town board and twenty years as a volunteer firefighter. He retired after spending fifteen years as a Driver at the Vance Air Force Base Fire Department.
He married Idella Belle Gilchrist September 2, 1954. They were blessed with four children: Judy, Sammie, Stanley and Roger.
He is survived by his wife, Idella; daughters, Judy and Sammie and husband Mike; sons, Stanley and Roger and wife Jennifer; sixteen grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Eunice, Vivian; brother Glenn; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
George was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruth, and daughter-in law Shireen.
George was greatly loved by his family and friends. He was passionate about his family, farming, cows, and sporting events (Go Pokes!).
Visitation will be Monday, June 7, 2021, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek, OK. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Nash First Baptist Church, 104 Hazel St., followed by interment at New Home Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to New Home Cemetery of Nash, The Timberlake Education Foundation or the organization of your choosing.
