New Home Cemetery


The funeral for Margaret Chestnut, 93, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Monday in the Chapel of The Good Shepherd at McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. in New Home Cemetery, Nash.
She was born June 2, 1912, in Hawley to Charles A. and Margaret Emily Crow Dark and died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006, at a Yukon health care facility.
She grew up in the Hawley-Gore communities and was a graduate of Gore High School.
She married John Chestnut Dec. 6, 1931. They lived in Nash for many years.
Surviving are three sons, Clifton Chestnut of Oklahoma City, O’Neil Chestnut of Mustang and James Chestnut of Stillwater; one sister, Donis June Gilbert of Wichita, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, one brother and two sisters.
Memorials may be made to the Nash Fire Department.
