Cherokee – Searchers early Thursday night recovered the body of Jerry Miller, 22, one of two men missing since a Wednesday morning boating mishap on Salt Plains Lake east of here.
A spokesman for the Alfalfa County Sheriff's office said the recovery was made at approximately 6:55 PM about 200 yards off the north shore near the Sand Creek Bay area.
Still missing and feared drowned is 21-year-old Terry Hager, also of Enid.
Miller and Hager along with Quenton Welty, 35, Enid were laying trot lines on the west end of the lake near Jet Landing Wednesday morning when a large wave threw them out of their boat.
Welty swam ashore and waded several miles through dense swampland to a phone where he notified authorities after an eight-hour ordeal.
