Joanna Lynn Welch of Blackwell, Oklahoma, entered into rest early Monday morning, September 16, 2019, in the St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid at the age of 52 years.
Joanna Lynn Welch was born on December 12, 1966, in Findley, Ohio, to James Allen and Rosalee Ann (Houtz) Roberts. She grew up in Bradner, Ohio, where she graduated from Lakota High School. Following her education she moved to Medford, Oklahoma, where she helped her aunt and uncle with their farming operation. In the late 1980’s she moved to Tahlequah and worked in clothing manufacturing. In 1990 she moved to Lamont and began working for Southwest Cupid in Blackwell as a seamstress and a year later moved to Blackwell to make her home. In 1997 she married Joseph Michael Franklin Campbell and they settled in Bison before moving to Garber. In 2004 she returned to Lamont and later moved to Billings where she worked for the Wheatheart Nutrition Center. She married John Albert Welch on June 19, 2010, in Billings and they settled in Red Rock. They moved to Lamont before moving to Blackwell in 2018. She enjoyed all type handcrafts, family gatherings and as an event planner at her church.
She is survived by her husband, John Welch of Blackwell; her mother, Rose Roberts of Blackwell; a sister, Stephanie Harman of Blackwell; two step-children, Jonathan Welch of Blackwell and Sarah Prince of Perry; a niece, Peyton Harman of Blackwell; a nephew, Emery Harman of Blackwell; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 19th in the Prairie View Assembly of God in Lamont with Rev. John Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in the Lamont Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in her honor with the Prairie View Assembly of God in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
