Lonnie Gene Schuermann © Enid News and Eagle 11-18-2016 Submitted by: Glenn
Oct 22, 1942 - Nov 15, 2016
Lonnie Gene Schuermann was born to Pauline and Elmer on Oct. 22, 1942, in Eddy, during a terrible rainstorm. Lonnie, being an impatient person, he barely waited for the doctor to arrive.
He graduated from Lamont High School in 1960. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Linda Kay Biggs, on Dec. 17, 1959. They lived, laughed and loved in Lamont.
Lonnie was a good man who loved the land and wore the title of farmer with pride. He enjoyed driving a bus for the DCLA school system, always wearing his Eagle and Sooner (not Texas) outfits with great enthusiasm. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Lamont. Lonnie never met a stranger. We all imagine he is up in heaven trying to talk his way into a bigger, better mansion!
Lonnie is preceded in death by his parents, Pauline and Elmer Schuermann; a grandmother, Bernice Wire; a sister, Peggy Calsing; infant daughter, Kathy; and a brother-in-law, Dan Smith.
Lonnie is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Scot; daughter, Shari; daughter, Kellie and husband, Brian Potter; brother, Gary and wife, Ruth; sister-in-law, Marilyn; and brother-in-law, Don Calsing and wife, Vicky. Grandchildren are Derick Schuermann and wife, Ida; Kyle Potter and wife, Crystal; Ashlie Reed and husband, Seth; Kimber Chew and husband, Lucas; Nickolas Potter and wife, Jasmin; Kelby, Alexandra and Emma Schuermann. Great-grandchildren are John, Scot and Addison Schuermann; Kyalynn Potter and Braydon Woodcock; Zion and Titus Reed; and Elijah and Carson Chew. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the St. Jude's in care of the funeral home.
The service for Lonnie Gene Schuermann is 1 p.m. Saturday Nov. 19, 2016, at the First Christian Church of Lamont. The Rev. Jeff
McReynolds will officiate. Interment follows in Lamont Cemetery. Arrangements made by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek.
