LAMONT — Funeral for Frank Kirby, age 78, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at First Christian Church. The Rev. Jeff
McReynolds and Chaplain Carl Criswell will officiate. Interment will follow in Lamont Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 p.m. Monday at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, Pond Creek.

Frank D. Kirby was born to Edward and Rena Huffington Kirby October 3, 1933, five miles west of Lamont on the Edward Kirby homestead.

He married Sandra Adams May 6, 1956, at First Christian Church, Lamont. They bought the homestead in 1960. Frank and Sandra operated the dairy farm for 43 years. He was known
as the youngest direct descendent of the 1893 land run. He was a member of First Christian Church, Lamont; grand marshal of the 2008 Centennial parade; and a rifle instructor.

He served as a Marine March 23, 1953, to March 22, 1956.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Rena Kirby, and brothers, Joel and Paul.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra, of the home; children, Klane and wife Kim, of Moore, Kyle and wife Barbara, of Lamont, and Travis and wife Linda of Tonkawa; sisters, Florence Brewer,
Enid, and Loreta Knight, Paroma, Kansas; grandchildren, Kwynn, Kehlen, Kyleen, Kara, Connor, Zach and Courtney; and great-grandchildren, Cooper, Kinley, Kash and Jayden.

ENID, Okla. — Funeral service for Sandra Lee Kirby, 79, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at First Christian Church, Lamont, Okla., with the Revs. Jeff McReynolds and Carl Criswell officiating. Interment will follow in Lamont Cemetery. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at Wilson Funeral Home in Pond Creek.

Sandra was born Jan. 30, 1935, in Enid, Okla., to Jack and Thelma Adams and passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, on Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, in Tuttle, Okla.

Sandra graduated from Lamont High School in 1953. She went to NOC and graduated in 1955.

Sandra and Frank Kirby were married May 6, 1956, in Lamont.

She was an active member of First Christian Church of Lamont, where she also was an active member of the choir. She loved to sing.

She was a member of the Willing Workers Home Extension Club. She held many offices through the years. She joined in 1971 and remained a member through 2011. She was the photographer and kept their scrapbooks current through all her years as a member.

Sandra was a true 'farmer's wife,' who worked by her husbands side on the dairy farm. She was a homemaker who loved her family deeply. Sandra was a great cook and loved feeding her family, friends and the farm help. Her 'famous' chocolate chip cookies where enjoyed by all who were lucky enough to eat one of them and won many blue ribbons at the Grant County Fair.

Sandra was her sons' No. 1 fan. She followed their school activities and sporting events without missing a single one. She will be missed by family and friends alike, but there is joy in the fact that she is whole again and reunited with her husband Frank and our Father in Heaven.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Frank.

Sandra is survived by three sons, Klane and Kim Kirby, Tuttle, Kyle and Barbara Kirby, Lamont, and Travis and Linda Kirby, Tonkawa; one brother, Bruce and Georgianna Adams, Ponca City; seven grandchildren, Kwynn, Kyleen, Kehlen, Kara, Zach, Courtney, Connor and Tessa; seven great-grandchildren, Jaden, Cooper, Kinley, Kash, Carter, Knox and Brinley.

Memorials may be made to First Christian Church.
