He was a retired operating engineer. The Service at 10 a. m. Thursday October 21, 1993. First Baptist Church Lamont, Oklahoma. Officiant: Rev. Earl West & Rev. Mark DeFeis. Vocalist: Susan Hoemann & Carolyn Turner. Songs: Daddy' Hands, Set another Place at the Table. Everyone sang: Victory in Jesus
Casket Bearers: Jesse Hodges, Dustin Silks, Joseph Silks, James Fouch, John Silks, Ray Crain.
Honorary Bearers: Lee Grodin H. A. Mille. Interment: Lamont Cemetery. Services: McCafferty-Bolick Funeral Home, Tonkawa, Oklahoma. He passed down a legacy that came from his grandfather and father, to his grandchildren "It is not a shame to be a working man."
Survivors: wife Lorene, son James of Lamont; daughters Judith Hodges of Lamont; Janet Rowan of Birmingham Alabama; stepsons, Orrin(Orvin) Lambert, Roger Lambert both of Enid Oklahoma, Gary Lambert of Kinsett, Arkansas; stepdaughters, Dian (Dina) Hedgecock, Kathy Silks both of Lamont; 47 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren. Memorial has been established with Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation Cancer Fund.
