ENID — Winifred Ann Soucek Hedges, 94, passed away Monday, May 28, 2012, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. She was born
Feb. 2, 1918, on a farm west of Lamont to Joseph Soucek and Pauline Bartunek Soucek.
Her funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Lamont Christian Church. Burial in Lamont Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek.
Winifred lived in the Lamont area most of her life. She graduated from Lamont High School in 1934.
She married Kenneth Hedges Feb. 7, 1945, in Kingfisher, Okla., while he was a flight instructor at Vance AFB in Enid.
Following his discharge from the Air Force, they lived and farmed in the Lamont area.
After retiring from farming, they enjoyed traveling to all 48 continental states and Alaska.
In 2003, they moved to Golden Oaks Retirement Center.
Winifred is survived by her husband, Kenneth of the home; sister, Louise Lang of Amarillo, Texas; sister-in-law, Dahlia Hedges of Midwest City, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lamont Christian Church.
