September 15, 1928 - June 23, 2022Graveside Service for Neva Jolene "Jo" Niles, age 93, of Ponca City, formerly of Enid, will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Lamont Cemetery. The Rev. Jim Edmison will officiate. Services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Jo was born September 15, 1928, in Freedom, OK, to Harvey and Alma (Sunderland) Mowbray and passed away June 23, 2022, in Ponca City, OK. She was raised in Medford and graduated from High School in 1946. She married Harold Dorsett, June 1, 1946, in Enid, OK. He passed away, May 14, 1995. Jo later married Tom Niles, September 28, 1996, in Enid, OK, and he passed away, May 23, 2015. She worked for Mahoney Drilling Co. in Liberal, KS, for 20 years. Jo then moved to Ponca City in 1983 and moved to Enid in 1989. She loved golf. She served as Chairman of the State 9 Hole, 3-day tournament held in Liberal, KS, in 1983. She serviced as president of Ladies Golf Association at Meadow Lake Golf Course, and she loved Bridge. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law Carlon Dorsett of Ponca City, OK, 3 children, 1 granddaughter, Amy Lantz of Palm Coast, FL; step-children, Rick Niles and wife Dorothy of Edmond, OK, and Lintha Niles of Enid, OK; 6 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; great-grandchildren: Liam, Isabella and Nathaniel.
She is preceded in death by husbands, Harold and Tom; Son, Sammy Dorsett; her parents; and 2 brothers, Lee Roy Mowbray and Lyle Mowbray.
