She was also known for her cooking; cherry pies, chicken and noodles and homemade cinnamon rolls were some of her favorites to share.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, who went to his eternal rest on Feb. 16, 1999; her parents, Edward C. and Rena Mae Kirby; and her brothers, Joel Kirby, Paul Kirby and Frank Kirby.

She is survived by her sister, Reta Knight of Ottawa, Kan. She also is survived by Barbara Thrift and her husband Fred of Lexington, Ky.; Chris Brewer of McKinney, Texas; Kay Hamill and husband Randy of Wichita, Kan.; Lesa Kleinmann and husband Calvin of Overland Park, Kan.; and Brent Brewer and wife Theresa of Hunter, Okla.
