The funeral service for Winifred Trenton, 84, will be Friday at 2 PM in Bethel – Hawley Baptist Church, near Nash, with Rev. Gary Lillie officiating. Interment will follow in Hawley Cemetery, under direction of Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek.
Mrs. Trenton died early Wednesday, December 13, 1995 at Golden Oaks Village, where she had made her home several years. She was born October 14, 1911 at Cambridge, Kansas, the daughter of Fred and Mina Thompson Jackson. She married Dean Trenton January 5, 1935 in Manhattan, Kansas. They made their home in the Hawley community where they farmed. He died July 26, 1983.
She was a member of Bethel – Hawley Church.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Dean Edward Trenton; and a brother and sister – in – law, Jim and Edna Jackson.
Her survivors are her son, Fred Trenton, Aurora, California; a daughter and her husband, Lois and Carl Coffman, Shawnee, Oklahoma; a sister and husband, Alice and Wayne Pipher, Indianapolis, Indiana; three grandchildren: Chris Coffman, Shawnee, Carla and Loyal Smith, Shawnee, and Ross and Amy Trenton, Aurora, Colorado; two great – grandchildren: Zackary and Levi Smith, Shawnee.
The casket will be open at the church from 10:30 AM until service time, and remain closed after the service. Memorials but be made to the Bethel – Hawley Baptist Church through the funeral home.
