Graveside service for Martha Jean Tharp, 71, of Enid, Okla., will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Hawley Cemetery, with the Rev. Gary Lillie officiating. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.
Martha was born Jan. 5, 1944, in Wichita, Kan., to Lloyd Russell and Annabell (King) Murray and passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015, in Enid.
She grew up in Wichita and graduated from Wichita East High School in 1962.
On July 25, 1964, Martha married Owen Tharp in Wichita, Kan., where they made their home.
The family moved to Waukomis in 1971. Martha worked at Wheatheart Nutrition for several years. Owen and Martha moved to Enid in 2008.
Martha is survived by her children and their spouses, Brenda and Michael Stover of Mena, Ark., Larry and Michelle Tharp of Alva, and Karen and Russell Bowling of Douglas; five grandchildren, Tim Kornele, Taylor Tharp, Dustin Stover, Kaitlyn Bowling and Jacob Bowling; and close friend, Larry Hromas of Waukomis.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Owen in 2013.
