Wakita – Funeral for Louis O. McCrary, 81, former Wakita resident, will be 10:30 AM Monday in the Wakita Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Hawley Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Service of Wakita.
Mr. McCrary died Wednesday in Billings, Montana.
He was born July 4, 1898 at Viola, Kansas, and was a farmer and builder. He lived at Wakita and Inola until his retirement and since then has divided his time between Billings and Denver, Colorado. Mr. McCrary was a member of the Mountain States Baptist Church in Denver. He married Pearl Kirkpatrick July 25, 1919 at Wakita. She died in 1964.
Surviving are four sons, Claude of Calahan, Colorado, and Gerald, Wayne and Marvin, all of Billings; four daughters, Mrs. Olethaa Buzzard of Grand Junction, Colorado, Mrs. Doris Allen and Mrs. Virginia Allen, both of Denver, and Mrs. Noveda Forshee of Oklahoma City; a sister, Mrs. Goldie Schmitz of Wakita; 16 grandchildren and 14 great – grandchildren.
