Cherokee – Allie Keller Albright, 90, retired homemaker, died Friday in a Cherokee nursing home.

Services will be held at 9 AM Monday at the Fisher – Grapes Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Tom Cooksey officiating. Burial will be in the Hawley Cemetery under the direction of Fisher – Grapes Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Cherokee Manor Nursing Home or the Hawley Baptist Church building fund.

She was born December 9, 1894, in Grant County. She moved to Cherokee in 1949 from the Hawley community.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alva, on November 20, 1980.

Survivors include a son, Lee Albright, New Orleans, Louisiana; daughter, June Howard, Chicago, Illinois; a sister, Dessie Elswick, Oklahoma City; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Cherokee – Alva T. Albright, 85, died Thursday morning in an Enid nursing home following a period of ill health.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM Saturday in the Grapes Funeral Home Chapel at Cherokee with the Rev. Gary Lillie, minister of Bethel – Hawley Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Hawley Cemetery.

Albright was born September 4, 1895, in Reno County, near Hutchinson, Kansas, to Grant and Mary Kay Albright. At the age of four, he moved with his parents to Oklahoma, settling in the Hawley community. He attended the Gore school. On October 24, 1917, in Enid, he married Allie Keller of Jefferson. They made their home in the Hawley community where he farmed. The couple moved to Cherokee in 1949.

Albright was a member of the First Baptist Church, and had served on the board of the Alfalfa Electric Cooperative Association for several years. He had also served on the board of city commissioners at Cherokee for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Allie, one daughter, Mrs. June Howard, Chicago, Illinois; one son, Lee Albright, New Orleans, Louisiana; one sister, Mrs. Lola Barrow, Enid; one brother, W. G. Albright, Enid; five grandchildren; and three great – grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Alfalfa County Hospital in Cherokee with the funeral home serving as custodian.
