Wakita – Eugene E. Hastings, 69, died Wednesday at his home in Wichita, Kansas. A private graveside service will be conducted at 1 PM today in the Fairview Cemetery near Wakita with a memorial service to be observed at 2:30 PM in the Christian Church at Wakita. The Reverend Gerald Waters of Wichita, Kansas, will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Byrd – Snodgrass Funeral Home, Wichita, Kansas.

Hastings was born June 9, 1910, at Waynoka and retired recently from Boeing Aircraft where he worked in the Transportation Department over 20 years. He was a member of the Riverside Christian Church at Wichita.

Survivors include his wife, Winifred; two daughters, Mrs. Martha Gerstenkorn, Conway Springs, Kansas, and Marjorie Hargen, Longmount, Colorado; and one brother, G. Leon Hastings, Alva.

Memorials may be made to the Riverside Christian Church, Wichita, Kansas, or to the Wakita Christian Church at Wakita.

Hastings, Winifred E., 93, passed away March 14, 2012. She was born April 21, 1918, daughter of Clark and Pauline (Biby) Richard. She married Eugene Hastings Feb. 13, 1936, in Medford, Okla.

Survivors include daughters, Martha Gerstenkorn, Marjorie Harger; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren.

Funeral service 10 a.m. Monday at the Wakita Christian Church.

Visitation Monday from 8 a.m. until the service at the church.

Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Wakita.

Memorials to the Wakita Community Health Center, the Riverside Christian Church of Wichita or the Wakita Christian Church.
