© Duncan Banner Sunday, December 11, 2005 Elwood Claude Sculthorp Rush Springs - Elwood Claude "Woody" Sculthorp, 72, of Rush Springs, passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005, in Rush Springs. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs with the Rev. Elmer Whitehead officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cob Chapel in Rush Springs. Woody was born Tuesday, Sept. 12, 1933, in Manhattan, Kan., to Lewis and Bertha Fawn (Summers) Sculthorp. Woody graduated from Tacoma Business College. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He lived in Washington state, then Ontario, Calif., before moving to Rush Springs 18 years ago. Woody married Marilyn Stenerson on Sept. 10, 1955, in Park River, N.D. He was a member of the Lion's Club and the VFW. Woody loved to play golf and take care of his cattle. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Sculthorp of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Shannon Sculthorp of Corona, Calif.; two grandchildren, Matthew Sculthorp of Corona, and Alexis Sculthorp of Corona; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert and Nancy Sculthorp of Indiana, and Dennis Sculthorp of Minnesota; and two nieces and nephews. Bearers are Raymond Rust, Gary Filippo, Paul Musshafen, Robert Deberry, Dennis Sculthorp and Bob Sculthorp. |
