© The Chickasha Express-Star Monday, January 8, 2007 Craig Stewart Meyer Funeral services for Craig Stewart Meyer will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Chickasha. Craig Stewart Meyer, 26, went to be with his Lord on January 4, 2007. Craig, originally from Chickasha, Oklahoma, lived with his wife and seven month old daughter in McKinney, Texas. Craig was born May 12, 1980 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Stewart and Beth Ann Meyer. Craig married his high school sweetheart, Deserae L. Wenzel on June 28, 2003, at the Thorncrown Glass Chapel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. On June 2, 2006 Craig and Deserae were blessed with a daughter, Isabella "Izzie" Katherine Meyer. Craig's girls were his world. He was the best husband, father, son, brother, and uncle anyone could have. Craig's passions in life were his Lord Jesus, his family, and flying. He was a member of the Stonebridge United Methodist Church in McKinney, Texas. Craig graduated from Chickasha High School in 1998.He graduated from OSU in December 2002, with a degree in aviation.He worked as a flight instructor at OSU. June 2005, Craig and Deserae moved to McKinney, Texas .He worked as a flight instructor for Monarch Air and worked for Barr Air Patrol. Craig was involved in Special Olympics.He and Deserae participated in the yearly walk to Stillwater and helped with other fund raisers. He participated each year in the Cadet Lawman Academy as a Cadet and staff. He had so much love and respect for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Marilynn Schimmel. He is survived by his wife, Deserae and daughter Isabella of the home; parents: Stewart and Beth Ann Meyer of Chickasha; sister and brother-in-law: Christy and Brandon Schroeder; one niece, Abby; two nephews: Alex and Zak all of El Reno; grandparents: Leonard and Edna Abrahams and Bill and Joyce Meyer, all of Clinton; uncle, Belford Abrahams, of Clinton; aunt and uncle: Lynette and Mike Davis, of Mustang; cousins: Michelle Kauk and Melinda Barton, of Clinton, Kim Campodonica, of Mustang, Gary Abrahams and Toni Boyles, of Florida. In lieu of flowers, a college fund is being set up for his daughter, Isabella, at the Chickasha Bank & Trust Co. PO Box 1307 Chickasha, Oklahoma 73023. Interment will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
