Wednesday, April 13, 2011 Barbara Don [Neeley] Edwards Rush Springs: Barbara D. Edwards, 73, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011 in Oklahoma City, OK. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 18, 2011, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs, with Bro. Bill Pendegrass officiating. Burial will be in the Westview Cemetery in Rush Springs under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs, OK. Barbara was born Sunday, February 27, 1938 in Dibble, OK, to Curtis Boyd Neeley and Ila Victoria [Emerson] Neeley. Barbara spent her youth traveling the country with her parents as farm workers. After high school, she received a business certificate from Ft. Worth Community College. Barbara enjoyed reading and sewing. She was deeply involved in the lives of her family. Barbara was always there for her children. Her family was her life. She never stopped striving to learn something new each day. In her later years she enjoyed watching tv. Barbara was a long time member of the United Pentecostal Church in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Survivors include; three sons, Terrence Lee "Terry" Franklin and wife Lizzie of Rosepine, LA, Ethan Felix Hale of Manitou, OK, and Altus, OK, Boyd Edward Hale and wife Doris of Paris, TX, daughter, Claudette Renee Holsapple and husband Mike of Oklahoma City, OK, three brothers, Curt Neeley of San Bernardino, CA, Bill Neeley of Arlington, TX, Howard Capps of Chickasha, OK, two sisters, Wanda Turney of Chickasha, OK, Mearlene Henshaw of Purcell, OK, grandchildren, Becke, Cherity, Victoria, Barbara, Jonnie, Kathy, Joe Bob, Zachary, Zoe, Raven, Sabre, Sage, Talisha, Blake, Stephen, and Dale, 23 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Valerie Horstkoetter. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. |
