© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Friday, March 18, 2011 William James Caveny Rush Springs: William James Caveny, 64, passed away Friday, March 18, 2011 at his home in Rush Springs. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at the Southern Baptist Church, with Rev. Michael Nunn and Rev. Elmer Whitehead officiating. Burial will be in the Westview Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs. William was born Monday, December 2, 1946 in Lawton, to William Harmon Caveny and Emma Sue [Mowery] Caveny. William was a longtime Rush Springs resident. He attended college at OSU and received his BS in chemistry from Cameron. William later attended graduate school at Georgetown University at Washington, DC and Emory University in Atlanta, GA. William married Susan M. Youngblood on July 31, 1971 at the Southern Baptist Church in Rush Springs. He worked as a chemist at Halliburton for over 33 years and during this time was granted numerous patents and awards. William was on the ASTM cement committee and a member of the Gideons in Grady County. He considered his greatest achievement being a husband, father and loving grandfather to his wife, two sons and four grandchildren. Bill was a laid back, easy going guy, but he knew how to live life to the fullest and could entertain for hours telling of his numerous and often hilarious expolits and misadventures. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Rush Springs and participated in Casa Voices for children, served as RA director and Godly mentor to many young boys for many years. The family wishes to express their deepest apreciation to all of the doctors, nurses and hospice care workers who served us so kindly and diligently as we dealt with the cancer that took his life, and to our family and friends for their love and support. Bill has gone home to Jesus to take on his new assignments in that city not built with human hands. Survivors include, wife, Susan M. Caveny of the home, two sons, Donald James Ricci, Jason Andrew Caveny, four grandchildren and three on the way, brother, Ronald Harmon Caveny, numerous aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins. William was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be: Larry Caveny, Nolen Caveny, Dale Townsend, Edward Wayne Caveny, Ricky Morgan, Andy Jones. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon's of Grady Co., PO Box 494, Chickasha, OK 73023. |
