© Rush Springs Gazette 9 & 16 September 2004 Marinda S. Barney Marinda S. Barney, 37, of Rush Springs died Friday, September 3, 2004 in Oklahoma City. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 8 in the Southern Baptist Church of Rush Springs with the Rev. Elmer Whitehead and Richie Large officiating. Burial was in Westview Cemetery, Rush Springs, under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home. Marinda was born March 10, 1967 in Pasadena, Calif., the daughter of Lavar Heber Barney and Vivian Nottingham Wheelis. She attended N.W. School to be an airline stewardess. She lived in Hisperia, Calif. for nine months. She enjoyed horseback riding and photography. She was preceded in death by her father, Lavar Heber Barney; her step father J.R. Nottingham;and one sister, Loran Barney. Survivors include a son, Justin Barney of Rush Springs, Mother Vivian Nottingham Wheelis of Rush Springs; four brothers, Jim Nottingham and wife Heather of Rush Springs, Okla., Robert Nottingham of Studio City, Calif., Kevin Barney and wife Carissa of Tampa, Florida, and Tim Nottingham of Thacher, Arizona; sister, Debra Deston and husband David of Bell, Florida; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Kevin Barney, Robert Nottingham, Jim Nottingham, Justin Barney, Charlie Glass, and Gary Bray. Honorary pallbearers are John Duke and Kevin Dennis. |
