E. A. SANDLIN SERVICES HELD WEDNESDAY Funeral services for E. A. Sandlin were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church, Verden, with Rev. W. O. Cooley, pastor, officiating, and Rev. C. W. Taylor and Rev. Wilkes Assisting.
Music for the service was furnished by Mrs. C. W. Hamill, Mrs. Don Brown, Miss Florence Lamb and Floyd Adkisson, who sang "How Firm a Foundation" "Amazing Grace," "Love To Tell The Story" and "Abide With Me." Mrs. I. H. Bilbrey played the piano.
Casket bearers were: Earl Smith, H. G. Hinkle, Eckle Hinkle, Debs Patterson, B. L. Anderson, C. A. Niday, C. A. Heisler and C. R. Dahms.
Interment was in the Verden Cemetery.
Edgar Augustus Sandlin was born September 4, 1873, in Crowton, Ala. Came to Oklahoma and settled on his farm two miles south and one half east of Verden in 1902, where he has made his home since.
He was married to Miss Susan Dona Patterson, December 26, 1905, to this union three children were born, Margaret, Eunice Ailine and Eugene. Eunice Ailine passed away January 24, 1924.
He was converted and united with the First Baptist Church of Verden in 1903. He was later Ordained by this church as Deacon, which position he filled until his Home going.
He passed to his Heavenly reward Saturday, April 5, 1947, at the age of 73 years and 8 months.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dona Sandlin; daughter, Margaret; son, Eugene; five sisters, Mrs. G. J. Widner, Mrs. Mabele Sams, Mrs. Floyd Dillehay, Mrs. John Wilkinson and Mrs. Ike Clendenon, all of Decatur, Ala.; four brothers, P. W. Sandlin and Herman Sandlin, of Decatur, Ala., Street Sandlin of Danville, Ala., and Neal Sandlin of Brighton, Colo. and a multitude of friends and aquaintances.
The end was as peaceful as the close of a beautiful summer day, when daylight fades into night with increasing loveliness.
