William Fred Newberry
Funeral service for William Fred Newberry, 77, Verden, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church, Verden, with Rev. Edward Whitley, officiating. Mr. Newberry was born Sept 4, 1896 in Healdton. He died Sunday in Grady Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
He married the former Louise Pelzer on March 3, 1918.
Survivors include one son, Arthur of Sunol, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Gray of Clearbrook, Minn. and Mrs. Rosie Blodgett of Wilson, Okla.; four brothers, Elmer and Frank of Tupelo, Charles and Jack of Antioch, Calif.; 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Interment will be in the Verden Cemetery under the direction of Hansen Funeral Home, Verden.
