Otis Lee McNabb

O. L. McNABB DIES, SERVICES HELD SUNDAY

Funeral services for Otis Lee McNabb were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 27 at the First Baptist Church, Verden. Rev. Wayne Swanson of Blanchard, pastor of the Prairie View Batist Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. Paul Palmer of Chickasha and Rev. Jim Robertson of Verden. Interment was in the Verden Cemetery.

Mr. McNabb, farmer and stockman in the Verden community, passed away at 3 a.m. Friday, April 25, in a Chickasha hospital suffering from a heart condition.

Mrs. Lewis Ferris and Duane Ferris sang "He'll Understand" and "Say Well Done," "When They Ring Those Golden Bells" and "Sweet Hour of Prayer." Mrs. Ed Nelson accompanied them.

Casket bearers were Wiley Weaver, Chester Heavin, Lawrence Winn, Lewis Ferris, J. L. Karnes and M. V. Edwards. Honorary bearers were Carlyon Ferris, Lester Heavin, Clyde Hamill and Harry Dodson.

Otis Lee McNabb was born June 29, 1911 at Wayne, Oklahoma and passed away at the age of 46 years, nine months and 26 days. He lived there until 1919 when his family moved to Rush Springs. He later lived south of Carnegie in the Alden community where he attended school.

He was married to Miss Ersel Brown on December 22, 1934 at Purcell. The couple lived at Anadarko three years before moving to their farm in the Elderberry community where they lived until three years ago. They moved to the West Valley View community where Mrs. McNabb has taught school the past three years.

Mr. McNabb was a member of the Presbyterian Church, which he joined at the age of 17 years. His mother died in 1922.

Survivors include his wife and one daughter, Maria Jo of the home address; his father, L. D. McNabb of Verden; one brother, E. E. McNabb of Seattle, Washington, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Among the out of two relatives attending the services were Mrs. Walter Brown of Salina, Oklahoma; Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Brown of Pryor; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Brown of Chickasha; Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Patterson of Midland, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schmidt and Mr. and Mrs. M. L. McNabb of Carnegie and Mrs. Etta Henderson and Mr. and Mrs. James Henderson of Okla. City; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Davis, Ponca City; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Penwright, Calumet; Mrs. Abbie Parrish, Mr. and Mrs. Tully Parrish and Mr. and Mrs. John Dawes of Anadarko; Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Parrish of Lawton; Mr. and Mrs. Feegee Parrish, Cordell and Mr. and Mrs. George Dyer of Fort Cobb.
