Gertrude Mattie [White] Otey McGiven

Services for Gertrude Mattie McGiven, 1316 Idaho Avenue, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of Brown Funeral Home with Dr. Eldon Scamans officiating.

Mrs. McGiven passed away January 9 at a local nursing home. She was born February 1l, 1877 at Sweetwater, Texas, and had lived 70 years in the Verden and Chickasha area. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Ruby Townsend, Mrs. W. P. (Lois) Dill, both of Chickasha, Mrs. Ruth Talkington, Verden, and Mrs. Blanche Green, Talara, Peru; two sons, Thomas Otey, Walters, and Edward Otey, Anadarko; ten grandchildren 27 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; one sister, Mrs. M. M. Grimmitt, Haskell, Oklahoma; one brother, Ben White, Cement, one foster brother, Harley White, Chickasha.

Interment was in Verden Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.
