May 18, 1910Mrs. Fallis Marshall
Death of Mrs. Fallis Marshall The many friends of Mrs. Fallis Marshall were grieved to learn of her sudden death on Tuesday at her home in this city. She had been ill with pneumonia only about one week and it was not believed until the last few hours that the end of her life was so near. Every thing that could be done by loving hands was administered but to no avail. The death angel came and called her to that Celestial home where eternal peace and happiness dwell.
Mrs. Marshall was born in Green county, Iowa, 47 years ago on the 12th day of last February. Being left an orphan at an early age she was adopted by a family named Bond who resided in Kansas. Her first marriage occurred to E. J. Hernd, in Butler county, Kansas, and three children were born to this union, one boy and two girls.
She was married to Mr. Fallis Marshall twelve years ago. They came to Verden the year this country opened, where they have since resided. The deceased leaves her husband and two children by her first husband to mourn her sudden demise, besides a host of loving friends.
The funeral services were held at 300 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Baptist Church of which church the deceased was a member, conducted by Rev. Harman. Interment in the Verden cemetery.
