J. L. LINDSEY SERVICES HELD JANUARY 1 Services for James Leroy Lindsey, 24, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Lindsey of Verden, were held at the Baptist Church in Crane, Texas on Sunday, January 1, 1956 at 3 p.m. Rev. Whiznet, pastor, officiated.
Graveside rites were held here on January 2 and burial was in the Verden Cemetery with the Hansen Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Lindsey was at work in the oil field at Crany when he accidentally got too much gas. He was rushed to a hospital and passed away a few hours later, at 12:30 p.m., December 31, at the age of 24 years, 8 months and 20 days.
He was born April 11, 1931 at Eakley, Okla. He attended school at Fletcher and was inducted into the army on January 20, 1948, serving two years. He was stationed at Buffalo, N. Y.
He was married to Miss Marnie Alice Simon at Crane on Oct. 5, 1953.
Survivors include his wife and one daughter, Belinda of Crane, Texas, his parents, three brothers, Kenneth Lindsey, who is stationed at Denver, Colo.; Milton Lindsey, who is stationed at Sheppard Field, Wichita Falls, Texas; and Keith Lindsey of Verden; and two sisters, Mrs. Louise Hunter of Manhatten, Kansas and Mrs. Dorothy Mantooth of Lawton.
Out of town relatives here for the services were Kenneth and Milton Lindsey, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hunter of Manhattan, Kansas and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Mantooth and daughter of Lawton.
Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Lindsey were called to Crane, Texas last Friday by the oil field accident of their son.
