Delphenia A. [McClaflin] Karnes

CHICKASHA - Funeral services for Delphenia A. Karnes, 65 of Chickasha, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 8, 2010, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel.

Delphenia A. Karnes was born December 29, 1944, in Chickasha, the daughter of Louis and Beulah [Wright] McClaflin. She died May 5, 2010, in Oklahoma City. She grew up in the Chickasha and Rush Springs area.

Delphenia married Andrew Joyce in 1962. This union blessed them with four sons; Jack, John, James and Jay. Andrew preceded her in death in 1991. She later married her husband, Keith Karnes in the spring of 2004. They have had six wonderful years together. She had worked as a waitress, she had worked for Wal-Mart for twelve years and she had managed the Chickasha Eagles Lodge. She was a people person. She enjoyed helping people and she enjoyed spending time with her family. She always had a positive attitude and a smile on her face.

She was preceded in death by her father; one sister, Corine Lacy; her husband, Andrew; and one step-son, Fritz Joyce.

Delphenia is survived by her husband, Keith of the home; her mother, Beulah (Wright) McClaflin; four sons and daughters-in-law: Jack Joyce, John and Kathy Joyce, James Joyce and Jay and Mary Beth Joyce; two step-daughters: Keri and Frankie Karnes; two brothers and sister-in-law: Bud McClaflin and Robert and Maryland McClaflin; two sisters and brother-in-law: Patsy and Buddy Rogers and Juanita Clark; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Interment will be in the Verden Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
