SERVICES CONDUCTED FOR FRED HILL TUESDAY Last rites were conducted for Fred Hill, at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Dutton Methodist Church with Rev. R. F. Denis, pastor, officiating.
Music was furnished by a chorus with Miss Fern Cassel at the piano. They sang "Does Jesus Care," "A Home Up In Heaven" and "God Be With You Till We Meet Again."
Casket bearers were Elbert Cassel, Raymond Whitley, Joe Schwaba, Jr., Vernie Fletcher, James Freeman and Doran Ray McComas.
Fred William Hill was born April 7, 1871 in Osage County, Kansas and died Sunday, August 15 at the age of 77 years, four months and eight days. He had been seriously ill in a Chickasha Hospital about a week.
He was married to Miss Margaret Guthrie in Kingman, Kansas in 1905. They came from Kansas to the Dutton community in 1906 and Mr. Hill had been engaged in farming since then.
Since Mrs. Hill's death, July 11, 1944, he had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Rose Mary Brown at Tulsa and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Seals, who have been living on his farm.
Mr. Hill was a member of the Methodist Church at Dutton.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Brown, Tulsa; one sister, Mrs. Laura Hancock, Wichita, Kansas; two brothers, Walter of Anadarko and Pearl of Nappa, California and four grandchildren.
Burial was in the Verden Cemetery under the direction of the Hansen Funeral Home.
