Funeral service for Lester Virgel Heavin, 85, of Verden, Oklahoma will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday September 20, 2008 at the First Baptist Church, Verden, with Rev Kenyon Bush officiating.

Lester Virgel Heavin was born November 8, 1922 in Anadarko, OK to Audra Virgil and Katie [Welch] Heavin. He died Sunday, September 28, 2008 in Chickasha, OK.

Lester married Eva Alwilda Whitson on January 31, 1942, in Anadarko. He had lived in Caddo and Grady counties all of his life. He was a member of the Laverty baptist Church and had been a deacon for 53 years. He is preceded in death by his parents and a great grandson, Blake Ryan Kennedy. Lester is survived by his wife; Eva Alwilda of the home; one son; Loren Heavin and wife, Betty of Verden, OK; two grand children: Tina Dolch of Verden, OK; Laura Kennedy of Amber, OK; four great grandchildren; Clay Dolch, Hayle Dolch, Bryce Dolch, and Jennifer Kennedy; a sister; Venita Baird of Bowie, TX; four brothers; Chester Heavin of Chickasha, OK; Don Heavin of Stigler, OK; Dale Heavin of Phoenix, Arizona; Bill Heavin of Amarillo, TX and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Interment will be in the Verden Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Chickasha, OK.
