Peter Frank "P. F." Harman, Rev.

REV. P. F. HARMAN SERVICES HELD MONDAY

Funeral services for Rev. P. F. Harman were conducted Monday, May 4, at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church. Rev. Kenneth Elkins, pastor, officiated, assisted by Rev. A. C. Nance, Bridgeport; Rev Walter Cummins, Anadarko; and Rev. C. W. Taylor, Verden.

Burial was in the Verden Cemetery with the Hansen Funeral Home in charge.

Music was rendered by Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Adkisson and Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Seago who sang Jesus Savior Pilot Me,No Night There and God Be With You. Mrs. Donald Brown was pianist. Casket bearers were Jerry Brown and Richard Brown, Jr., great grandsons of Rev. Harman, and Debs Paterson, Lee Fowler, Harry Dodson and Floyd Henricks.

Peter Frank Harman was born in Whitley County, Kentucky, April 30, 1866 and passed away at his home in Verden, Oklahoma, May 2, 1953 at the age of 87 years and two days.

He was united in marriage to Miss Lou Nellie Loback, March 21, 1889 at Birmingham, Missouri, and to this union was born nine children, three having preceded him in death. They moved to Oklahoma in 1900 and have lived in Verden and vicinity until the time of his death. The couple observed their 64th wedding anniversary recently.

He was ordained a Baptist minister at the age of 19 years and has faithfully served his Lord.

He was association missionary in the Caddo association for 16 1/2 years. He was also at Chickasaw Association and at Mullins, Salt Fork Valley association. He was known to have helped organize and build many churches in this association, consisting now of 23 churches.

Those left to mourn his departure are his wife, Mrs. Nellie Harman, Verden, three daughters, Mrs. R. H. Brown, Verden; Mrs. C. R. Ruse, Los Alamos, New Mexico and Mrs. Bee Walker, Elk City, Oklahoma; three sons, Clarence M., Fresno, California; Paul F. and Howard G. of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, one brother, Madison Harman of Filer, Idaho, also a host of other relatives and friends.

Among the out of two relatives and friends who attended the funeral of Rev. P. F. Harman, other than the immediate family were Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. John Marshall, Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Boaher, Mrs. Virgle Hill, Mr. and Mrs. John Alldredge, Mrs. A. Y. Britton, Mrs. Minnie Biggs, Raymond Parman, Wayne Woodman and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Knapp, all of Elk City; Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Robinson, Mrs. and Mrs. Artie Walker and Mr. and Mrs. T. C. McDonald of Carter, Okla; Mrs. Dean Abernathy, Sweetwater, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Moore, Erick, Okla.; Mrs. Fred Stroupe, Crescent, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ruse, Mr. and Mrs. O. K. Ruse, Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Goetting, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hill, Mrs. Dophia Hilton, Mrs. Lula Ricker and J. B. Mills, Chickasha; Mrs. W. M. Utzman, Midwest City; Mrs. Esther Tresner, Mrs. C. M. Craven, Mrs. Lizzie Stone, Mr. and Mrs. Rash Harman, Oklahoma City; Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Harman, Guthrie.
