© The Verden News January 11, 1929 Margaret Olene Hampton Margaret Olene Hampton of Lawton, Oklahoma was born January 17, 1919 at Bromide, OK to William Owen and Mary Alma Jones. She passed away in Lawton on May 30th at the age of 94. Olene attended East Central University in Ada before moving to Lawton and going to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone. She worked as a telephone operator and eventually became a supervisor during her 30 plus years working for the company. She lived at Robinson's Landing before moving to Lawton in 2005. She enjoyed gardening and growing beautiful flowers. She is survived by: 3 nephews- Donald Harry, David Bennett and James Bennett 1 great-great niece- Jaeden Bennett A friend of the family and her caretaker- Don Gibson She was preceded in death by: Her parents Her son, Julius Grant Hampton 5 Sisters A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 1st at 1:00 P.M. at the Verden Cemetery in Verden, OK with Rev. Troy Taylor officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Crews Funeral Home. |
