© The Verden News Verden, Oklahoma July 28, 1911 October 14, 1874 ~ July 24, 1911 Mrs. Hattie Agnes Garrett, wife of W. C. Garrett, north of town, died Monday afternoon after a long and serious illness. Mrs. Garrett was 36 years of age and was born in Hot Springs, Ark. She later moved to Oklahoma and was married to W. C. Garrett. Beside a husband, the deceased leaves two children to mourn her loss. There were also three children by Mr. Garrett's first wife who loved their step-mother very dearly and her death was almost as great a blow to them as if she had been their own mother. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church here Tuesday afternoon by Rev. Butler of Chickasha, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Verden cemetery. An exceptionally large crowd was present at the funeral, including many people from Chickasha. To the bereaved family. The News joins the many friends in extending our sincere sympathy. |
