FLANAGAN SERVICES HELD HERE THURSDAY Funeral services for Mrs. Cornelia Jane Flanagan were conducted at the Verden Methodist Church Thursday afternoon, April 18, with Rev. C. W. Taylor officiating and assisted by Rev. Paul Mitchell. Interment was in the Verden Cemetery with the Hansen Funeral Home in charge. Music for the service was furnished by Mrs. J. N. Kern, Mrs. Harry Dodson, F. G. Ransbarger and Floyd Adkisson, who sand "Beautiful Isle," "Sweet Bye and Bye," and "Old Rugged Cross" with Mrs. F. G. Ransbarger accompanying them. Casket bearers were: Sid McVey, Cleve McVey, C. R. Dahms, George West, Sam Talkington and John Kern. Cornelia Jane Smith was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, December 12, 1857, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Avis Risk, Canton, Missouri, April 16, 1946, at the age of 88 years, four months, and four days. She was united in marriage to Arista Flanagan, July 14, 1878, at Filmore, Missouri and to this union was born four children, one son and her husband having preceded her in death. They came to Oklahoma in 1900. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Those left to mourn her departure are three children; two daughters, Mrs. Edd Peters of Chickasha and Mrs. Avia Risk of Canton, Missouri, one son, Roy Raymond Flanagan of California; one brother, Glen Harris, El Dorado, Kansas and one sister, Mrs. Mary Cain, Kansas City, Missouri. |
