Verden, Oklahoma September 20, 2013 March 25, 1926 ~ September 20, 2013 Funeral service for Lewis Ray Buchanan age 87 of Verden, OK, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 23, 2013, in the Pentecostal Lighthouse Church in Verden. Rev. Ed Whitley and Rev. Shawn Smalling will officiate. Lewis Ray was born the son of Staley William Buchanan and Clyde Ethel Goyne Buchanan on March 25, 1926 in Beeville, TX. He died on September 20, 2013 in Chickasha. Lewis married Faybell Blevins on July 8, 1958 in Verden. In 1964, they moved to Verden. Lewis was a retired pipefitter of Local Union 798 out of Tulsa, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, Staley and Clyde Buchanan and three brothers, Troy Gallager, Roy Gallager, and Staley Lee Buchanan. Survivors include his wife, Faybell Buchanan of the home; son, Tommy Ray Buchanan of Chickasha; son, Robert Wayne Buchanan of Verden; daughter, Janice Fay McMullen of Chickasha; daughter, Jackie Mae Buchanan of Chickasha; brother, Bobby Buchanan of Shawnee; brother, Mac Buchanan of Dallas, TX; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. Interment will be in the Verden Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of McRay Funeral Home, Chickasha. |
